For me The 12 Rules for Life is a book with some genius content mixed with too much aesthetic. Read below for more details. Review. 10 seconds review: “12 Rules for Life” has major Christian influences and a bit of a bombastic style. But it also has many sparkles of genius, several practical tips, and lots of great psychology/5.   Most of Peterson’s rules for life seem to come straight out of the stoicism handbook. Stoicism is a philosophy of life that emerged in Ancient Greece and Author: Sebastian Hill.

About: Over the years, (former) Harvard and (current) University of Toronto professor and clinical psychologist Dr. Jordan B. Peterson has developed what he believes to be a definitive set of rules for leading a successful and fulfilling life.   It is in the context of 21st-century neoliberalism that the appeal of a book like 12 Rules for Life starts to make sense. The present generation is having a much harder time of it than their Baby.

This Newbery Honor Book is a humorous and heartwarming debut about feeling different and finding acceptance. Twelve-year-old Catherine just wants a normal life. Which is near impossible when you have a brother with autism and a family that revolves around his disability. Aside from those short extracts, Dr Carter-Scott's book, 'If Life is a Game, These are the Rules', also further explains that Cherie Carter-Scott developed the 'Rules' quite a long time before her book was published in , specifically during the mids, while in the process of designing a three month training program for consultants.
